Ecclesiastical Church Embroidered with Medieval Appliquéd Figures : C1828 France English textile 219 x 29cmItem Details. Am really pleased with this wonderful find. An ecclesiastical stumpwork, embroidered and appliqud shawl worn around the neck by a priest. Dated 1828 but made using much earlier embroidered figures taken and re applied from an 16th century panel. On one side it has a figure holding a baby (Christ) on a very decorative and wonderful horse with a figure walking alongside. Underneath is written Clair de la charity Dethevvray . The other side
