MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN RING, SIZE 6 1/4 8/9/2022 Silvered bronze of large proportionsSize 6 1 4. Rounded face tapered band 2. 8mm, flaring to the shoulders. Raised oval bezel cut with triple band diagonals corners forming a diamond, representing the Star of Bethlehem which at this time was depicted as a diamond shape based on the earlier star of Mars, the Roman God of War. These rings were worn by Pilgrims to the Holy Land in the 9th century. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface
